Cross Country Again

Adam ran in his second cross country meet Friday. At the dreaded Freeman Park in IF. Which is our favorite frisbee golf spot, but has now acquired a bitter taste as well. So Adam (in addition to Sam) now has mixed feelings about the place.

Here he is, dancing before the race started.

The field.

After a false start, in which one of the IF kids got spiked, they are off.

Can you see him in there?

Rounding one of the sharp curves.

And crossing the bridge at hole 4 on the disc golf course.

Rounding hole 14 on the disc golf course.

And coming into the home stretch.

Adam wanted a good picture of his hair, and this is the best one.

Couln't quite pass some dude from Grace.

Trying to cool off at the end.

Evanston

We drove down to Evanston for the Labor Day weekend. The plan was to watch Kate and Thad's parade, and to go boating. But although we did enjoy the parade, it was too windy and cold to go boating.

Waiting for the candy to start raining down from heaven.

The EHS marching band.

With Thad,

and Kate. Kate was hiding from me behind her flag, so the best picture I have of her is from behind, after she had passed by.

Afterwards we went to the Cowboy Days rodeo and ate and watched Thad and Jack do the bubble balls. Here's Thad working into one.

Apparently it took some coordination to stay on your feet.

Waiting for the chicken.

Jack, pretending to be in gaol.
