Skiing the Pass

Conditions were right yesterday for skiing Teton Pass, between Victor, ID and Jackson, WY. Laura and Pete were home for the long weekend, so off we went. Adam, Jack and I played chauffeur, while Jann and the big kids skied.

There were plenty of people parked at the top.

The nice cowboy sign.

Then, a hike through deep snow. There was a pretty good crust a few inches down, so they didn't punch through too often.

Jann, about halfway up to the top from the parking lot.

Jann coming down, with Pete and Sam looking on. (You can see just their heads, in the top right corner.)

Jann and Laura wending their way down.

Adam, keeping himself entertained, down at the bottom of the pass.

Pete, coming out of the cat track at the bottom.

Sam after his first run.

Three big boys.

Jack, keeping himself entertained.

Waiting for Mom and Laura.

And here comes Laura.

And Jann.

They went down four times, with us picking them up at the bottom, and driving back to the top. It took about 20 minutes per run. There were other skiers hitchhiking back up, but the Suburban was full, with all seven of us, plus gear, so we couldn't give them any joy.

  1. Poor Laura. First she was misidentified as Emily and then, even worse, her mother
