We hiked this last year with Sara, but this year we got an earlier start.
So many dead trees. This is about a five mile hike to the summit, but a 4000 ft elevation gain.
Every once in a while they waited for me.
Something interesting at lunch. I was too tired to care.
After a long hard slog, I finally caught up with them, waiting for me yet again. The last 400 ft is up rocky slopes.
Sitting at the edge of the precipice.
Up, up, up.
Face timing with Sara and/or Grandma.
Up, among the clouds, at 11,200 ft.
It was chilly and windy.
Looking south east.
The four hikers.
Jann, among the sunflowers, on the way down.
It was a little smokey in the valley. Perhaps from our fire north of the sand dunes.
Fire weed.
Indian paintbrush.
