PNW Jaunt

Since I'm on sabbatical, doing very important work, I can assure you, my schedule is somewhat flexible. So we went to see the Pacific Northwest contingent.

Emily and Rory are now in Boise (yay), so we had lunch with them as we flew by.

Lily is always happy to have her picture taken.

In the morning, we walked to Blue Star Donuts...

...and enjoyed ourselves.

On the way back.

We also went to Portland's rose garden. It was very cool.

Everything smelled wonderful.

Even Ted enjoyed his ride.

Toots and Hazel resting.

More smelling.

A family outing, without Pete, who was in Colorado having fun of his own.

Hazel playing in the fountain.

Snuggling with Jack.

They have a great park a block away.

With swings.

We went to the Tillamook creamory.

And to the beach.

It was freezing cold, and the wind was blowing.

But Hazel sure had fun.

Then to the Birches, who had new goats.

Ruby and Rose love them.

The remains of Mt St Hellens. Kind of awesome to think about.

Then on to the Boeing museum of flight.

Brice and Andy are happy empty nesters.

Toots in a mockup of the SR-71 cockpit.

In space, no one can hear you scream.

Learning about DB Cooper.

Rose had had enough by this time.

On the ferry to Bremerton.

We ate as a nice Indian restaurant there, and then drove back to Sara's via the Tacoma Narrows bridge.

We went back through Boise again, and stayed the night, but for some reason I don't have any pictures. I have a video though.
