Seventh Annual Point Fest 2021

Seems like we've been doing this for quite some time now. Seven years. Well, six years, but this is the seventh one. We had a good few days.

Thursday

Thursday was like any Thursday on any Point Fest. On the north side of the Point, waiting for any wind. Olive and Brigham weren't bored yet.

Trying out my new ultra wide angle on my new phone. Not great for portraits.

Sam, begging spare change, so he could add more nose weight to his Alula.

Friday

Cassie, enjoying her time in the car.

Brice's old homebrew glider, and the one he and Ben made from the same fuselage mold and airfoil. Ben's was quite a bit heavier, and flew like a rocket.

South side today. Since the wind was light, we flew light planes for a bit.

Jack, launching my Alula. Thanks kids.

Sam doing a wind dance.

Miracle of miracles, the wind did pick up, and we had a couple hours of good solid lift.

Jeff had a new JW, and let Brice fly it too. They both liked.

Quite a crowd of onlookers too.

Jeff's splinter camo JW.

Eric's Schweitzer 1-26.

Brice's antique Scorpion. The one Sam cut in two a couple of times ago. This time, Brice broke it in two on a hard landing. He fixed it that night, and flew it again Saturday.

One of these things is not like the other.

Saturday

At the start of the day, paragliders were everywhere. They all landed after one of theirs injured himself on the mount (background).

It was light lift again, with some avian visitors.

Angie, loving it.

Buzz Samyear, with Brice photobombing. Thanks for stopping by Laura.

Sam's jalopy "Shadowfax." Kind of gimpy looking, but there's a funny story here.

Shadowfax doing his thing.

Jeff's teeny chuck glider, fitted with RC.

After lunch, the wind switched to the North side again. Here, Brice is flying the Sagitta.

Michael Jones' wife Camille trying to fly with her eyes closed.

Michelle was there the whole time too, and did a little flying.

Brice, having fun...

... with his newly fixed Scorpion.

And then the wind died again, and that was that.

Maybe we should go to New Zealand next year.
