Happy Valley

The four of us flew to Pennsylvania to visit the Sams. We flew into Dulles in DC, so we also visited with Jeff and René some. It was a most enjoyable trip.

Jack, with a small bug flying past his right eyebrow.

They took us on a beautiful hike up a small mountain.

This was Angie's first hike after Luke.

The scenery was really quite breathtaking.

Overlook.

Adam enjoying some snuggle time.

We went to a fruit farm to pick apples,

out in the middle of the rural,

But they only let you pick outside on Saturdays. So we picked inside.

Sam took us to his favorite disc golf course.

It was fabulous.

Hole 18, overlooking the valley.

Took some fam pics.

And extended fam pics.

Then we drove back to DC, and toured the capitol.

Paul, showing us his expertise.

Andy Jackson looked stern.

Philo T. Farnsworth was being claimed by Utah.

We also protested in front of the Supreme Court,

and saw the National Botanical Gardens.

And took the Metro back to meet René for a ride to their home.

That night, Jeff took us on a tour of some of the monuments.

Korea looked frightening.

Abe looked somber. It was moving to read some of his words here.

Next morning we went to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy museum, and saw many cool things. I missed the Enola Gay, because I was trying to be funny about something else.

It was a rewarding and, in many ways astonishing, trip. We'll have to do it again.
