Rexburg Air

On my birthday, Jack and I went to our sort of annual Rexburg air show. Kind of lame this year, but still fun.

Jack, applying sun screen, to avoid unpleasant consequences.

Gassing up the P-38.

This guy's new nickname is Alfalfa. He ran out of gas the day before, while practicing, and had to land in a freshly-mown hay field. They gassed him up again, and he took off, and flew back to the airport.

DC-3/C-47, on takeoff.

Spewing smoke all over the place.

I love this plane. It was designed and built by some firefighter dude from Utah, who likes the lines and radial engines of the old biplanes. Her name is Unfinished Business.

Boeing Stearman.

Tumbling, during some gyroscopic maneuvers.

No, we're not having fun.

Trying to get the port engine started. P-38s are unusually quiet.

Ol' Yeller (P-51), P-38, and one of only two flyable P-63 King Cobras in the world.
